Team Taking Care of Business Shaw Group Business Case Competition Winners!
by Kennie, Nathan
The Shaw Group Business Case Competition for first-year students was held on February 28th in Patterson Hall, the future home of the F.C. Manning School of Business Administration. Five first-year student teams were given 24 hours to analyze a business case and then present solutions to a panel of industry judges. Judges put the most value on the teams’ analysis of the current situation as described in the case, followed by the teams’ evaluations of reasonable alternatives. Congratulations to the first-year team, Taking Care of Business, comprised of Daren Draper, Laura Fair, Danielle Wisen, and Ron St. Croix. Their first-place effort garnered for them $1,000 dollars and luncheon with Shaw Group executives. Business case competitions provide students with collaborative learning experiences, networking opportunities, and knowledge of real world business challenges. The Fred C. Manning School of Business acknowledges the generous support of The Shaw Group in funding this popular competition.
