Manning Launches the Annual Shaw Group Business Case Competition
by Kennie, Nathan
The Fred C. Manning School’s inaugural Shaw Group Business Case Competition (SGBCC) was held on February 8, in Patterson Hall, the new home of the Fred C. Manning School of Business Administration. Sponsored by the Shaw Group of Companies, the competition attracted four teams that had twenty-four hours to analyze a business case and present its findings to the competition’s judging panel. First place went to BBA students Christopher Gillian, Kerri-Anne McFarland, Alexandra Smith, and Madison Wilson. In addition to having their names engraved on the SGBCC’s plaque, the winning team received a cheque for $1,000 and attended a private luncheon hosted by Shaw Group executives Bert Frizzell, Vice-Chairman of The Shaw Group, and John Greer, General Manager of Shaw Precast Solutions and Shaw Transport.
