Clear Skies Consulting Wins Second-Year Shaw Group Case Competition
(L-R) Drew Brandreth, Blake Steeves, and Brogan O’Brien

Clear Skies Consulting, the team consisting of Drew Brandreth, Blake Steeves, and Brogan O’Brien, has won first place in the Shaw Group Business Case Competition for Second-Year Students. This year’s case, Moo Cluck Moo: Serving Up More Than the Minimum Wage, examined the never-ending minimum wage debate; specifically, the use of a living wage in a small fast-food restaurant organization and its effects on motivation. The case competition required student teams to determine if it would be sustainable for Moo Cluck Moo to expand through franchising. "Every team in the competition considered the moral implications of this realistic business challenge" said Dr. Danielle Mercer, Shaw Group Competition organizer. "Their deliverance was passionate, professional, and insightful. I was extremely proud as I watched all of them present." The judges commended all five teams for their impressive analysis and confidence while presenting. The winning team, Clear Skies Consulting, distinguished itself with a detailed yet clear problem statement, and a unique but viable solution.
